Hello October!

Hello Readers.  I am finally getting around to posting. Hopefully I will get this down and post on a regular basis!  We had a great class on Monday of this week.  This "Happy Card" was the favorite of most of the stampers that day.  We made a bunch of autumn projects (keep checking back for more pics) using primarily the "Day of Gratitude" stamp set and the coodinating "Autumn Spice" designer series paper.  Both are found on page 12-13 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

The background for this card was made by sponging over a stencil.  We stamped and cut out the leaves and then sponged over the top of them. The great thing about the aged/distressed look is that you can do a little or a lot depending on your personality, mood, or just the look you are going for!

So here is what I love about October:  It really is fall!  September is the summer into autumn month.  It is the back to school month, it is the apple month (I used to be a kindergarten teacher...I think there is an object I associate with each month...has to do with the giant calendar in the classroom.).  October is the "now we get down to the real autumn business" month...pumpkins!  Oak and maple leaves!  Crisp days and cozy foods! And...this is the big one...it's only 12 weeks til Christmas!!!  Which in the stampin' world means WE BETTER BREAK OUT THE CHRISTMAS STAMPS AND THE GLITTER AND GET BUSY!!!! (there might be a new Christmas song in there somewhere).

In light of it being OCTOBER and all that it implies, I have a few announcements!

In addition to my classes I have a great opportunity for you to make your own Christmas cards (at least if you live in Western Washington). Let me help you design your Christmas cards using Stampin' Up supplies.  We will order what you need and then you can work on them at my house.  I will be hosting two open house days where you can come and work on your cards all day and evening.  The dates for these events will be November 4 and 18.  My house will be open from 11 am until 11 pm for you to work on your cards.
